- Safety Concerns
- Patients threatening staff-. Labor brought the concern of staff’s safety to management’s attention and told them if staff can’t get thru when they call the on-call person it’s a problem. Management said that they give staff resources in the moment. Management isn’t aware of a time when the on call didn’t answer but also said there’s a resource of calling the Executive on Call or the CMO.
- Atlas Issues- Labor asked if there’s been any issues with Atlas since the update was performed. There wasn’t anything major reported.
- CBHH Rochester
- Part time staff who want more/less hours. Labor asked if there’s a process for part time staff to get the hours they want, whether it be more or less.
- If .8 want more hours, then they need to reach out to Heather or April and let them know. Staff can also reach out to their direct supervisors then they will fill them in there. Management is willing to offer overtime for those open shifts if they want them as .8 people. This seems to be more of a St. Peter issue than Rochester. Management said they aren’t really denying people extra hours if we’ve got them to give.
- Atlas Issues-updates if there are any issues? There were people couldn’t login and there is a workgroup that has been designated to help with the troubleshooting…but will notify Labor if there are big troubles to make sure we can help communicate the issues.
- CDPA passing meds without nurses- We schedule each shift with a nurse, and we provide training for CDPA, and it is now in the position description to pass medications. Chemical Dependency Program Assistants are monthly and initially trained to pass medications with the oversight of a nurse but then they can pass meds on their own. Labor asked if there are limitations with CDPA’s passing medications? Management said that CDPA’s aren’t allowed to do injections and can pass anything that isn’t in the patient’s orders. Labor will be submitting a data request thru HR for the position description and state statute on what the requirements are for CDPA.
- Wrap up and miscellaneous
